CLASS SCHEDULE 2011-2012
International Ballet Academy offers a complete curriculum to dancers and is designed to provide an increasing variety of special classes. IBA is divided into three groups: the Children’s Division, the Student Division, and the Pre-Professional Division. Within each division, every class is structured upon a syllabus that progresses with the dancer’s development.
CHILDREN’S DIVISION
The Children's Division is for children between the ages of 3 and 6. It is divided into three age groups. These programs are a prelude to formal ballet instruction and introduce children to music and movement through a structured progression that stresses creativity and group interaction. These classes meet once a week.
Pre-Ballet has a limit of 14 students per class.

STUDENT DIVISION
The Student Division is for children between the ages of 6 and 12. It consists of levels from Ballet Foundation 1 to Level 4. Classes in this division are based on age, physical strength and development. Students are introduced to progressive levels of ballet technique as described in the IBA School Syllabus. They are promoted according to individual progress in acquiring technique and strength. Unless otherwise designated, classes meet once a week.
All classes in the Student Division have a limit of 16 students per class.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL DIVISION
The Pre-Professional Division program concentrates on perfecting technique and developing artistry through intensive instruction. This dance instruction includes all aspects of classical ballet technique including Partnering and Variations, as well as Pilates. Placement in this division is based on teachers’ evaluation. Level 5 meets three times a week. Level 6 and 7 meet four times a week. Level 8 meets five times a week. Partnering classes are available to students in Levels 6 through 8 (or by teacher recommendation) and is optional. Variations classes are offered to students in Levels 6 through 8 and are optional. Please note that in order to attend Partnering and/or Variations classes, students must attend all the required technique classes for their levels.
Levels 5 and 6 have a limit of 16 students per class. Levels 7 and 8 have a limit of 18 students per class.

JAZZ PROGRAM
The International Ballet Academy offers a jazz program for beginners through advanced dancers. Jazz 1 through Jazz 3 classes have a limit of 16 students per class. Jazz C through E classes have a limit of 20 students per class.
